What Causes Acne

what is acne

If you or someone you know is dealing with acne, the first thing to remember is that you’re not alone. It’s a very common skin issue that many people deal with, especially teenagers. This inflammatory skin disorder is known for causing blemishes on the face. It happens when the pores of the skin get clogged with oil, dead cells, and bacteria. This results in blemishes such as blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, and others.

Acne can be very persistent. You may have experienced it as a recurring issue with symptoms such as pimples popping up before old ones can fully heal. It can even leave lasting scars on the skin. Experts recommend that you treat acne as early as possible to prevent this from happening. Use a scientifically-proven solution that will help you Clear Up & Cheer Up!

Acne Symptoms

If you have acne, you may experience at least one or a mix of these:

Open clogged pores. Their surface is open to oxygen in the air which causes the top of these pimples to have a dark appearance.

Closed clogged pores. Unlike blackheads, these pimples are sealed from the air which allows them to remain flesh-colored.

These are small, red, and tender bumps caused by inflamed or infected hair follicles.

Also known as pimples. Pus is commonly found at the tip of these red bumps.

These are large and solid lumps that appear under the skin. They are often painful.

Like nodules, these large and painful lumps also appear beneath the skin. The difference is that cysts contain pus.

Papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts are more likely to cause scarring on the skin. Part of the mission of Acnes is to prevent these scars from getting in the way of your confidence. That’s why our products contain natural ingredients that work hard to remove the blemishes and marks caused by acne.

Causes of Acne

There are 3 main things responsible for causing acne:

Overactive oil glands. When oil glands on the face produce more sebum than needed, they block the follicles which leads to acne. That’s why Acnes has Butyl Avocadate (5α Avocuta). It helps bring back oil production to normal levels to prevent acne.

Unusual shedding of dead skin cells. The skin regularly sheds dead skin cells. However, if you’re acne-prone, you’ll make and shed more than normal which clogs the pores and contributes to acne. Salicylic Acid (BHA), one of the key ingredients of Acnes, cleanses the pores and washes away the excess skin cells before they lead to acne.

Fast-production of acne-causing bacteria. When skin pores are clogged with sebum and dead cells, bacteria multiply uncontrollably. They irritate the pores which causes pimples and other blemishes to appear. Acnes contains antibacterial ingredients such as Isopropyl Methylphenol and Salicylic Acid (BHA) to help stop acne from forming due to bacteria.

According to experts and researchers, these 3 factors are mostly related to things that are outside of people’s control such as genes. They contribute more to acne than factors that can be controlled such as what you eat, general hygiene, and other habits. In other words, if you have acne, it’s most likely because your skin is prone to it rather than something you did.

However, while they don’t really cause acne, some habits and factors can make it harder to manage.

Diet: Fast food, junk food, chocolates, and some dairy products can make acne harder to manage. While fruits, raw vegetables, and fish can make it easier. Choose your diet wisely!

Stress: Get relief from stress regularly. It may play just a tiny role but every little thing helps in the fight for clear, acne-free skin that’s full of confidence.

Skincare: Washing the face rarely or too often could make acne more difficult to deal with. The type of skincare you use also plays a role. Many products, including anti-acne ones, are soap-based. They usually dry the skin which can cause even more irritation and make acne worse.
